Just a little note to say what a fabulous jobs your receptionists do. Times are hard with appointments etc but over this last week I’ve had to phone a few times for different things and they went the extra mile to help with my requests and I’m very appreciative of it.
I finally got through to a receptionist after ring a total of twenty plus times from 8.30 only to be told there were no more appointments available for that day.
Rang the next day again a total of twenty plus times got through only to be told I had to speak to a gp rather than be allowed to book to see a gp. I was asked what was wrong and I said I had multiple issues I needed to discuss. A gp rang me me later asking me what my issue was. I listed my concerns only to be told sorry...its a 10min appt I can only deal with one issue...what concerns you the most. I said I wasn't qualified to say which was the most urgent that it should be her that should say well ok let's deal with this issue as this sounds concerning and let's book you in for a double appt to discuss the other issues. No..instead she just wasted the ten minutes on telling me I had to ring with just one issue at a time and to not be argumentative. I was so upset I ended up hanging up. Why couldn't I just have a face to face appt? Covid restrictions are now lifted yet this practice continues to provide a limited service to its patients. I'm looking to move elsewhere, where I can see a gp face to face Do not be fooled by this medical practices website thst states you can book an appt 3 week in advance...you can't...
I suffer with my mental health and anxiety, I had been seeing dr bahktar for a while with this problem, I’m now so sad to hear he has left idle medical centre, I just haven’t been to see another dr about my mental health since, he was so understanding and I felt at ease with him, lost a great dr there idle medical centre
After coming in to the surgery today to request an appointment or telephone call, I was told by a very unhelpful receptionist there were no appointments. This was very disappointing as she did not check the system. I went on to say I had recently had an operation due to lung cancer and felt like I had a chest infection. The receptionist continued to say they had no appointments.
I was later seen that day by another practice and had a chest infection
High quality of ongoing service and treatment to my elderly parents who are both long-standing patients of the practice; receptionists are patient, caring and efficient, GPs invariably phone back asap when care and/or support is needed and prioritise treatment requests with a logical explanation. Really great to experience this high level of commitment care against the backdrop of “doom and gloom” communicated by the BBC etc.
